Happy Fitness Friday! 🎉

Improving your fitness doesn’t have to mean gym memberships or fancy equipment. Some of the most effective ways to get moving and build strength are completely free and easy to start right at home. Today, let’s focus on two key areas: walking, NEAT (Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis), and simple bodyweight workouts.

1. Make Walking a Daily Habit
Walking is one of the best forms of low-impact exercise. It’s free, it’s easy on your joints, and it’s a fantastic way to clear your mind. Aim for a brisk 20-30 minute walk each day to boost your heart health, strengthen your legs, and reduce stress. Pro tip: Listen to your favorite podcast or playlist to make it more enjoyable!

2. Boost Your NEAT
NEAT includes all the little ways you move throughout the day outside of formal workouts. Here’s how to get more NEAT into your routine:
– Take the stairs instead of the elevator.
– Park farther away when running errands.
– Dance around while cleaning or cooking.
– Play an active game with your kids or pets.

Every extra step adds up to improved health and energy levels.

3. Use These 5 Simple Bodyweight Workouts at Home
You don’t need equipment to get a great workout! Try this quick and effective circuit:
1. Squats (3 sets of 12-15): Strengthen your legs and glutes.
2. Push-Ups (3 sets of 8-12): Build upper body strength and core stability. Modify with knee push-ups if needed.

3. Plank (3 sets of 30-60 seconds): Engage your core and improve posture.
4. Lunges (3 sets of 10-12 per leg): Boost leg and glute strength while improving balance.
5. Glute Bridges (3 sets of 12-15): Activate your glutes and strengthen your lower back.

Perform these moves in a circuit, resting 1-2 minutes between rounds. Adjust the reps or sets based on your fitness level.
